The 21st Century has seen a turning point for defence. With the rise of terrorist activity, defence forces are increasingly having to adapt to threats outside the range of conventional warfare.
While forces will continue to defend against traditional, large-scale armed conflict, asymmetric warfare has fast become commonplace. Today’s threats are relatively frequent, difficult to predict and more complex. This requires highly flexible and responsive force structures with modern logistics support; providing the right kit, supplies and information at the right place at the right time.
Our flagship product Ellipse offers a defence solution used throughout the world, with users that include:
Ministry of Defence - UK
Australian Defence Organisation
Botswana Defence Force
Canadian National Defence
Caterpillar Logistics (suppliers to the US Marine Corps)
Chilean Navy
Royal Brunei Armed Forces
US Army Space and Missile Defence
US Coast Guard
AMT-SYBEX has worked in partnership with the MOD on a number of key projects.
These include supporting the asset management capabilities at Faslane - the base responsible for the running of the UK’s strategic nuclear deterrent and the headquarters of the Royal Navy in Scotland.
Our solution delivered significant benefits by using one integrated system to provide information on asset condition, asset life and expected replacement costs. By helping Faslane implement improved work management processes and controls they were able to implement more effective resource management and cost control.
These benefits were all realised whilst having to comply with nuclear authorisation conditions and regular audit scrutiny.
AMT-SYBEX has recently been conducting trials of its Mobility solutions with one of the biggest military organisations in the world - The Australian Defence Force.
The trials involved army craftsmen servicing reconnaissance carriers whilst using our FDCS inspections solution to manage their task lists and enter details of faults found.
With the ongoing challenges, armed forces are now being used less in unilateral action; instead they are required to work as coalition partners within NATO and other collective groups around the world. The new watch words are coherence, interoperability and integration.
