Energy Retail Consultant
Role overview
This role involves undertaking consultancy activities in the energy retail sector. This role involves working with our customers to capture business objectives and requirements and translate them into high quality documentation. You will carry out analysis of customer requirements and evaluate alternatives to provide the best possible solution to their business needs. You will need to be able to communicate effectively at all levels within our client organisations and be able to translate the identified business solution into functional and technical specifications for use by our developers.
Typically you will also be involved with managing the business delivery, configuration and implementation of the chosen solution.
You will need to be able to apply your skills in unfamiliar surroundings and be able to work as part of a team and on your own.
Key activities
The consultant is typically responsible for the following activities:
- Responsible for the capture of business requirements
- Production of functional design documentation
- Specification of product customisations & enhancements
- Production of user/training documentation
- Application configuration during software implementation
- Participate in Planning & Risk Management
- Benefit identification and justification
Knowledge and experience
- Strong analytical and problem solving skills
- Knowledge of the industry defined Business Processes operating in the UK Energy Retail and Metering industry segments
- Knowledge of relationships between industry participants in the market including the governance, regulation and the data transfer/communications mechanisms which support these relationships
- Knowledge of key driver of change within the industry segment
Skills/Competencies
A high level of ability is required in the following areas:
- Process & Data Modelling (UML, Case tools)
- System Analysis
- Experience of SAP IS-U and other CRM and Billing solutions used in Energy Retail segment
- Experience in delivering client presentations
- Experience of using common design, modelling and testing tools such as Enterprise Architect or Rational Rose
Our clients are mainly based across the UK and Ireland. Our consultants are required to travel and stay away from home during the week on a regular basis.
