Gerry McKeown served on the Board of AMT-SYBEX as a Non-Executive Director from 2000 to 2009 and has now recently re-joined the Board as Non-Executive Chairman (2012).
Gerry has a long career in IT commencing with Ontario Hydro in 1967. He set up and owned one of the first Software Houses in Ireland and the UK – McKeown Software – in 1974 until 1999 (now part of the Capita Group). In 2001 he became an Investor and Deputy Chairman of Data Electronics Group, a company operating Datacentres, which was recently sold to the Telecity Group.
He also holds investments in several other IT Companies including the Chairmanship of AccountsIQ (a company delivering Accountancy Products using the SaaS Model through the Cloud) and a Non-Executive investor role in Vizor which specialises in Software for Bank and Insurance Regulation.
He was educated at Rockwell College in Ireland and graduated from UCD with a degree in Physics. He is also a Fellow of the Irish Computer Society.
Group Deputy Chairman
Pearse co-founded AMT-SYBEX in February 1990 and as Group Managing Director had overall responsibility for the company’s activities until February 2003.
In February 2003 he became Group Deputy Chairman. Prior to joining AMT-SYBEX Pearse was the founder and joint Managing Director of a publicly quoted computer services company and prior to that held a number of senior positions with Honeywell Information Systems Limited.
He was educated at St. Ignatius College Galway, Mungret College Limerick and University College Galway. His interests include horse breeding, football and tennis.
Group Chief Executive
Andy joined the company in 1991 and as Group Chief Executive has overall responsibility for company activity. During his time with AMT-SYBEX Andy has worked exclusively within the customer facing side of operations. Following initial success within the sales team, Andy has experienced a variety of other roles including Account Manager and Sales Manager.
Andy was appointed as Group Director in March 2000 and became Group Managing Director in February 2003.
Andy holds a BA (Hons) degree, has experience as a teacher and also has experience within the construction industry. In March 2002 Andy became a Chartered Director with the Institute of Directors.
Deputy Group Chief Executive
Andy joined the company in 1992 and is responsible for the company’s Mobile Working and Information Management Business Unit. He is also Chief Executive of AMT-SYBEX’s wholly owned Supply Chain Management subsidiary, Marrakech. Since joining the company, Andy has filled a variety of roles including; Consultant, Account Manager and Pre-Sales Manager. In 1999, Andy joined the UK Board and fulfilled roles of Strategy Director, Operations Director and Sales & Marketing Director. He joined the Group Board in 2004 and was appointed as Deputy Group Chief Executive in December 2012.
Andy had an early graduate career with Sainsbury’s, gaining experience in Head Office, Depot & Retail Management functions. Andy holds a BA (Hons) Business Studies, a Chartered Institute of Marketing Diploma, an Institute of Directors (IOD) Diploma in Company Direction and IOD Chartered Director status.
Brian helped to form AMT-SYBEX in 1990 and as Group Director is responsible for the overall direction of the company. As co-founder Brian initially held the role of Sales Director followed by Managing Director. In the late nineties Brian enjoyed the role of Deputy Chairman and then advanced to employ his wide range of management, marketing and sales skills in the area of Sales and Strategy Development. Brian was also formerly the Non-Executive Chairman of Mincom (APAC) Pty Ltd.
Brian currently heads AMT-SYBEX’s APAC (Asia Pacific) business and is based out of Australia & Singapore.
A former University Lecturer and Sport Psychologist, Brian has B.Ed (Hons.) and M.A. degrees. He has also published two books.
Group Technical Director
Leonard has overall responsibility for the technical direction of the company’s products.
Leonard is particularly passionate about using software to enable large scale enterprises, having spent most of his career working with clients in the global infrastructure and energy industries.
Since joining the company in 1990, he has filled a variety of software and product development roles, ultimately becoming Head of R&D, before joining the Irish Board as Technical Director in 1994.
He has consulted with a number of leading international companies in the areas of enterprise architecture and cloud computing, and has a special interest in mobile technologies.
He is author of a number of technology patents for AMT-SYBEX and holds a BSc (Hons) in Computing from CIT.
Group Finance Director
Paul joined AMT-SYBEX in 1990 as Financial Controller and was appointed Group Finance Director in 1991. He retains overall responsibility for the group finance function, including the financial aspects of planning, strategy and investments. Prior to joining AMT-SYBEX Paul ran an accountancy practice for five years.
He is a B. Comm. Graduate of University College Dublin and a Fellow of The Institute of Chartered Accountants in Ireland.
Sebastian Coe was appointed a Non-Executive Director of AMT-SYBEX Group Ltd in February 2011. Sebastian Coe is a double Olympic Champion and set 12 world records during his athletic career. He retired from competitive athletics in 1990 and then became a Conservative MP and Private Secretary to William Hague.
He retains close links with his sport through a variety of national and international bodies and is a Vice-President of the International Amateur Athletics Federation (IAAF).
Having built a close relationship with the IOC, he led the London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic bid to victory in July 2005. He is now Chairman of the London Organising Committee for the Olympic Games. He also acts as global advisor to Nike, and is controlling shareholder of The Complete Leisure Group plc. In 2002 he was made a Peer – Lord Coe of Ranmore. He received a knighthood in the 2006 New Year’s Honours List.
Lord Coe’s involvement with the 2012 Olympics – one of the largest UK infrastructure projects in recent memory – provides a natural fit with the AMT-SYBEX client base in the essential industries.
Brian was appointed a Non-Executive Director of AMT-SYBEX in September 2013. Brian has run his own management consultancy firm for over 20 years. During this period he was also Chief Executive of Powerscreen International plc and CardBase Technologies Ltd. He was Group Chief Executive of Arnotts Holdings Limited, a retail and property investment group. Previously, he was Chairman of Lifestyle Sports, a founder and Chairman of Premier Computer Group and a non-executive director of IWP International Ltd, McCormick Macnaughton Ltd and Moffett Engineering Ltd.
He is currently an independent Non-Executive Director of NTR Plc, an investor in, and asset manager of, renewable energy projects with a particular focus on wind energy in US, UK and Ireland, and Towercom Holdings Limited, Ireland’s leading independent provider of wireless infrastructure.
Brian is a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in Ireland and a member of its Strategy Review Board. He has represented the Institute on the Professional Accountants in Business Committee of the International Federation of Accountants based in New York. Brian also serves on the Professional Standards Committee of the Chartered Accountants Regulatory Board.
