23/12/2008 - Women shun obvious breast implants
The majority of cosmetic surgery patients would not like their breast implants to look over-inflated and fake, new research suggests.
A total of 121 women who recently underwent breast surgery at one of the Harley Medical Group's 23 UK clinics were questioned about their views on page three girl Nicola McLean's breasts.
The glamour model recently enjoyed a stint in the I'm A Celebrity jungle for the ITV reality show, in which her surgically enhanced breasts were placed under the spotlight.
However, 99 of the respondents (81 per cent) were unimpressed by Nicola's breast implants, describing them as too overblown and artificial looking.
Women were more inclined to adopt a subtle 'less is more' approach to give them a more natural appearance.
Liz Dale, director of the Harley Medical Group, commented: "Breast enlargement has always been top of the ops we perform.
"However, over the last five years we've really noticed that huge breasts are out and instead women come to us looking for a natural result, not a 'look at me' statement neckline, which can sometimes cause too much attention."
The Harley Medical Group has been carrying out cosmetic surgery and non-surgical cosmetic treatments for over 24 years. Its first clinic opened on Harley Street in 1983.
