Energy Networks Overview
Through ‘Regulated’ competition, the drive on behalf of consumers for an ever more cost effective, reliable and sustainable energy infrastructure continues. The regulator has a renewed emphasis on rewarding good quality, complete data and is pushing a renewed drive towards optimising Asset Management, building further on the improvements seen with the introduction of PAS 55.
This must be balanced with the on-going challenges of enabling UK CO2 reduction targets, ensuring security of supply, and managing the potential new business demands posed by the introduction of smart meters. In many cases these drivers work in synergy with increased data quality and visibility, helping to enable flexibility and increased security of supply for a lower cost.
AMT-SYBEX has worked with energy networks businesses since the early 1990s when we first began our relationships with National Grid and Transco. To date, more than half of the UK Distributed Network Operators (DNOs) have installed Ellipse. We provide a range of products and expertise focused on improving the completeness of asset data through better deployment of mobile data collection and governance of data coming into corporate systems.
