Mobility day: The future of asset data gathering

Last week AMT-SYBEX welcomed a wide range of delegates to IBM Southbank to our mobility day conference, which examined the latest developments in the mobile world and provided insight into how some of the UK’s leading companies are managing and benefitting from mobile technology.

Two people talking in the IBM Forum, London

This year our guests Robert Alonso from Transport for London and Steven Bradwell of Electricity North West gave presentations focussing on their experience of initiating mobile asset data gathering.

In particular Robert spoke about the design and delivery principals of rolling out a mobility project while Steven Bradwell from Electricity North West concentrated on the cultural and operational challenges associated with asset data collection.

Colin Challenger, Mobile Lead in AMT-SYBEX, also gave an insightful presentation on the evolution of mobile technology and the safeguards available to minimise the effect of this evolution. In addition he was able to present some future technologies and how these might impact on mobile asset gathering technologies.
